By India Today Sports Desk: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma’s dismissal against Rajasthan Royals in the match that is the 1000th of the Indian Premier League raised eyebrows. Sharma got out to Sandeep Sharma into the second innings of the match in what seemed like a dismissal that is confusing the umpire. Sandeep’s knuckleball deceived Sharma completely and seemed to have opted into the tactile fingers of Samson, who was standing up to the wicket.
The bails however came off after the ball had gone to the hands of Samson, sparking confusion amongst fans and experts. The umpires however deemed Sharma out, a determination that did not get well with a section of the fans, who called away the umpires on social media.
The Indian Premier League, on, 1 May posted the video of the dismissal, and included shots from the medial side angle, to clarify what had exactly happened Monday. IPL captioned the video clip “The dismissal that had the international world talking!”. The fans jumped on evidence that is new and stated that it was clear from the side angle that Samson was well behind the wickets and also the ball must have clipped some element of the bails – a feather touch perhaps.
Sharma’s early dismissal, but, did not affect the morale of the group, and Mumbai scripted a win that is inspirational courtesy of Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tim David who hit tremendous innings throughout the order to take MI to an unbelievable victory at the Wankhede Stadium.
